7 July, Arrival of Liv and Ruby

Liv and Ruby arrived at 4:45 from Raleigh after lunch stop at Wilber's BBQ in Goldsboro (Liv remains committed to the virtues of southern fried chicken). No nap, just play en route as Mom hunched over the steering wheel straining to catch ESPN coverage of the World Cup semifinals. So psyched to finally be at Granddad Peter's and Grandma Sara's. Instant BFFs with Isaac.

Peter and Sara had arranged for swim classes to start ASAP, so off we went to YMCA for lesson.

Liv's first full swim of the length of the pool. Quite an accomplishment!!
Liv and Roo picked up where they left off from CT swim classes and Isaac fed in on the positive swim energy.
Good times at the Y.

We stuffed ourselves with pizza and came home (the girls to their 3rd floor walk-up, as I'm calling it) for garden time, dessert, stories and bedtime.

First the kids had to start a club in the garden tent. Kids + tent + 2 free minutes = club creation.

Then vanilla ice cream and coloring.

Then storytime. Ruby read the first story, Liv the second and Sara the 3rd. Who's getting spoiled? (ha!)

Aiming to get kid bedtime to a reasonable hour...Peter and Sara are gladiators! Several of their friends stopped by our table at dinner tonight--high praise all around for the grandparents' commitment (or was it that they ought to be committed?) So far the plan is to head out early tomorrow for fishing. Got to get out early to bed the 100+ heat here. Ugh.
